A couple of weeks ago I headed for bed feeling vaguely like I had failed; feeling like I hadn’t gotten anything done all day (again).
So I asked myself (I think it was the Spirit gently leading me): what did I think would actually define a “successful” day?
Maybe I just needed to list out what I actually hoped to accomplish and include things I’m currently already doing to visualize my progress.
Did I feed the baby today? Why yes, I did. I spent hours doing that! ✅ Success!
Did I read my Bible today? Why yes, I did. It was wonderful soul-nourishing time. Another ✅.
Did we do school and/or reading? We did! ✅
To visualize this, I made a checklist for myself of tasks that were necessary for each day, and others I wanted to make sure I accomplished.
My new checklist now stays in the front of my planner to remind me that keeping my family fed and basic tasks are actually the measures of success I was hoping to reach with 8 children, including 4 small ones. 😊👣 ✅ When I see what I’m doing is a task and check it off the list, I realize I’m truly getting the most important things done
If you need a checklist like I do, I made a free printable letter-sized version for you to use! Maybe it will help you visualize the amazing work you’re doing every day too.
