Our beginning of the school year felt rather unceremonious as we had spent the night before celebrating a birthday with affogatos (ice cream drowned in coffee). Would you believe we have kids from Pre-K to 12th grade this year? 😀
And some college boys too! 🙂
Our first day of school went really well! This year we changed curriculums back to one called AOP (Alpha Omega Publishing) LIFEPACS. Each child has their own set of work books and do about 5 pages in each per day. The cost was about $425 per child and far less for Pre-K.
I bought them portable plastic desks (locally!) since we moved our big table out of our office:
Our high school freshman is doing ACE and Teaching Textbooks Algebra I, which I think is a great combo. The cost for her workbooks was about $275 for the year, and we already owned Algebra I and have used it several times now.
I didn’t get a picture of our senior because she was hidden away doing way too many lessons so she can graduate early. I don’t know why she wants to graduate when high school is so much fun?! 😉 This year she is taking MasterBooks Anatomy & Physiology for Science, AOP 12th grade level Bible, Teaching Textbooks Pre-Calculus, and Jensen’s Format Writing for English. She also took dual-credit classes at the local college this summer to get ahead on her history, math, and an elective.
School may be a little fun, but it is serious work too, for everyone! 🙂 The kids did a great job after 3 months off, and I was happy to begin our 15th year of homeschooling!
